Imagine a meeting with a counselor that is more like a meeting with a friend over a cup of coffee. As a former contractor, heavy equipment operator, and business owner, Robin Hulce has a friendly, informal, “blue collar” approach to counseling that will put you at ease. A near lifelong Christian and student of the Word of God, Robin is also passionate about “speaking the truth in love,” as described by Ephesians 4:15.
Robin was born and raised in Hawaii, where he entered into his relationship with Christ and began working with his father at an early age. In his teen years, Robin experienced a dark period in his life, making choices that could have produced severe consequences. He credits the one-on-one counsel and care he received during this time as instrumental in directing him back into fellowship with God.
As he became a young man, Robin married his wife Shelley, and they have celebrated 35 years as husband and wife. While they have experienced many of the challenges couples face, they are as committed to each other as they are committed to Christ. Together, Robin and Shelley have raised four young men and three young women, all of whom are following Christ and active in ministry.
While we may not think of ministers as wearing hard hats and operating heavy equipment, as a contractor, Robin ministered to those around him through prayer, encouragement and sharing the simple, sufficient truth of God’s Word.
After years of encouraging men informally, Robin is available to counsel men formally. It is his passion to show men the answers the Bible has for all areas of life. He is certified by the Institute for Biblical Counseling and Discipleship (IBCD), he studies under and has been mentored by Arnold Fruchtenbaum, and continues his training with multiple biblical counseling disciplines under the direction of Community Bible Church and her elders. Look at his testimonial page, and you will read firsthand what others have learned while meeting with this counselor, who over time, becomes more like a brother or trusted friend, all while keeping sight of God's Word, and Jesus Christ as the “chief cornerstone.”
Why struggle alone? You are not alone; you don’t need to do this by yourself. To experience how Robin Hulce and the ministry of Applied Biblical Counseling may assist in you in achieving victory through Jesus and His Word, contact Robin today.
“....lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth. Therefore, laying aside falsehood, speak truth each one of you with his neighbor, for we are members of one another.” —Ephesians 4:22-25 (NASB)
