As I reflect on this word and review my life experiences, I am surprised at how few true peacemakers I can think of. There are a lot of nice people and kind people out there, but a true peacemaker? Someone who will proactively defuse a volatile situation. Someone who by virtue of their reputation, character, and demeanor is found trustworthy to bring clarity, unity, and peace to the table. Someone who can take two opposing views and produce a consensus. Where is that person? Where is the peacemaker? Where is that person whom God was searching for that would “stand in the gap” so He would not destroy the land? (Ezekiel 22:30) As believers in Jesus Christ, we are called to this task. Striving for peace with everyone (Hebrews 12:14), and looking out for others’ interests not just our own (Philippians 2:4). Lord, help me be a peacemaker. Lord, raise up an army of peacemakers.

I love You God. I trust You God. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Thank You God.
